Chapter 16

Katie's point of view

Ike and I left for Tulsa the following day.  It's nice to be home!  But I still have homework to do plus my

first college finals are in 3 weeks and I'm starting to get scared about them.  So it's not all fun.  But I have

been able to spend time with my family (including my Dad's relatives who live close-by).  I got to start my

Christmas shopping at the day after Thanksgiving sales.  And I have been able  to spend time with Ike.  We

have gone on walks, roller bladeing, and watched tv.

Right now we are watching "Mission Impossible".  I love Tom Cruise and Ike likes "action flicks".

"I can't believe I have to go back tomorrow.  These past four days have gone by way too quickly.

I'm nervous about finals." I say.

"Why?" Ike Asks me.  "I bet you'll do just fine."

"Thanks, but I'm taking hard courses and I want to do well in them." I say.

"Well, as I said you'll do fine.  You always do."  Ike tells me.

"I hope so.  Can I see you before I go to the airport tomorrow?" I ask.

"Of course."  Ike says.  We kiss and hug.  It's going to be a long 3 weeks until I come home again.

"You're staying here for Christmas right?"  I ask.

"Yes.  You're coming to our infamous New Year's bash right?"  Ike asks.

"Of course.  I wouldn't miss it."  I say.

"Good.  I think Crystal and Katie might be there.  We want to see everyone one more time before we hole

up in the recording studio for the next few months." Ike says.

We kiss and hug again.  Then Ike walks me home.

"I'll see you tomorrow."  I say.

"See you then."  Ike replies.  Then I go inside, get ready for tomorrow, and then go to bed.
