Ike's point of view
Well, we finished the Albertane Tour and had some time off. It's now the Tuesday before Thanksgiving
and I am in Katie's dorm. I decided to surprise her by coming and picking her up and flying back to Tulsa
with her. She couldn't afford to come home for Thanksgiving and I really wanted to see her so I asked her
parents and mine if I could go get her and bring her back. They said I could. So here I am.
I knock on her door. She opens it.
"Oh my god! Ike! How did you get here?" She says and throws her arms around me, then ushers me inside
and closes the door.
"I flew and boy are my arms tired!" I tell her.
"Ha Ha! How did you get past the front desk?" She asks me.
"I snuck past. I didn't want anyone to recognize me." I said.
"What are you doing here?" She asks me.
"I'm here to take you home for Thanksgiving. We leave Metro Airport after your last class tomorrow."
I tell her.
"Thank you! I'm so glad." she says. "Where are you staying?"
"I have a motel room close by." I tell her. "Why don't you show me around campus?"
"Ok sounds great." She grabs her purse and the door to her room opens. A girl with long wavy brown hair
comes in.
"Oh hi Rachel. This is Ike. He came to kidnap me and take me home for the Thanksgiving weekend."
Katie says.
"Nice to finally meet you Ike. I've heard a lot about you." Rachel says.
"Nice to meet you too." I say.
"I'm going to show Ike around campus. See you later." Katie says.
"Ok" Rachel says. We leave.
We walk around campus and talk.
"I'm glad the tour went well. What are the band's plans now?" Katie says.
"Thanks" I say. "We are all very tired so we will probably rest up for now. After the new year we will
start recording the new album at home first and then go to LA. We wrote some new songs while we were on
the road and will probably come up with others too." My stomach starts growling.
"Cool" Katie says. "You hungry?'
"Yes" I admit.
"Feel brave enough to try cafeteria food?" She asks.
"Sure why not. " I say.
We walk to the cafeteria, go in and order our food. I pay for it and then we sit down. As we are eating
this guy with long brown hair and 2 earrings comes up to our table.
"Hi Katie." he says.
"Oh hi Chris." Katie says. "This is my boyfriend Ike. Ike this is Chris, a friend of mine."
"Nice to meet you." he says and puts his arm out.
I shake is hand and say "Nice to meet you too."
Then Chris says "Well, I'd better get back to my friends. Bye"
"Bye" We say.
"Who was that?" I ask Katie.
"Just a friend." she says.
"Oh ok." I say and let the subject drop. But now I know why she has been nervous when we talk
sometimes. We finish dinner and we walk back to her dorm.
"I'll pick you up here tomorrow after your last class" I tell her.
"Ok. I can't wait to go home and spend time with you and my family." She says.
Then we kiss. I know then that I have nothing to be afraid of.
"See you tomorrow." I say.
"Ok. See you then." Katie says. Then I leave to go to the motel.
Katie's point of view
I was surprised to see Chris there. I'm glad Ike didn't get mad. Chris and I are just friends and have only
eaten at the cafeteria together on occasion when we run in to each other there. At least I think we're just
friends. Boy, do I need a couple of days off!
