This whole chapter is in Ike's point of view
We met the others at our designated spot.
"What do we want to do now?" Tay asks
"Penny suggested Spago's. How 'bout we go eat there ?" Zac suggests.
We all agree on going to Spago's. We jump in to the 4runner we rented for the weekend and go to Spago's.
We had a great time a Spago's talking and eating. Everyone loved the food. Then we went back to the
house so that the girls could pack. They're staying in the guest room.
"Katie's Grandpa has Alzheimer's. She's not taking it well." I tell everyone.
"Man that's rough." Zac says.
"Crystal's Mom and Justin are getting married. She says she's ok with it but I don't think that she
really is" Tay tells us.
"Hopefully she'll come around. Her Mom is great for Justin." I say.
We all agree that we are glad that the girls came for the weekend. We had a great time and are ready to
go back in to the studio on Monday. Tay and I also hope we can be there for Crystal and Katie.
"Penny wants all of us to go rock climbing tomorrow before they leave tomorrow. What do you think?"
Zac says.
"That would be a great idea. " I say.
"Yeah sounds great. Let's cook breakfast for the girls before we go." Tay says
Zac and I think that would be a great idea. I go tell the girls that we will leave at 9 and that breakfast will
be at 8:30. Then we all go to bed.
The next day Zac, Tay and I get up at 7:30 so we can get cleaned up and make breakfast for the girls.
They come down together right at 8:30. They look at the feast of French Toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, etc. that
we have prepared and are surprised.
"When you told us that breakfast was at 8:30 we didn't think that it would be made by you guys." Katie
says.
"Yeah, this is a very pleasant surprise." Crystal says.
"Thanks." I say. Why are they surprised? After all, there are 9 of us and we all have to cook sometime.
"Let's eat!" Zac says.
We all dig in. The girls love the food. After we all pitch in to do the dishes, we go rock climbing.
We had a great time rock climbing. But then it was time to take them to the Airport. They all have the same
flight to Chicago and then take connecting flights home from there.
We get them and their luggage checked in, go through security, and then stop at the gift shop so they can
stock up on snacks and reading material. They we all go to the gate. Shortly after we arrive they have to
board. We give them hugs and kisses and say good-bye. Then they board the plane.
"I'm going to miss them." Tay says.
"Me too." I say. "But we will get to see them for spring break."
"You're right." Tay says.
Man, there goes the phone bill again. Oh, well at least there's also e-mail and instant messaging.
We then go home so that Tay and Zac can do some homework and so we can get ready to hit the studio
tomorrow.
